About

Wenhui Nie聂 闻徽

Wenhui Nie is a contemporary painter based in London, whose works explore the intersection of animality and humanity. Delving into themes of identity, memory, and cultural crisis, she often depicts scenes of both interior and exterior landscapes with light colors and uncanny compositions. Born in 1999 in China, Wenhui combines traditional Chinese art theory with modern painting techniques, recreating a state of randomness while being mindful of the tension in her paintings. Her continuous study on the representation of animals as symbolic figures and a range of fluctuating and ambiguous emotions draws connections between the physical and the metaphysical world.
